I’m pretty sure this man needs no introduction, but in the interests of making a gushing fool out of myself, I’ll try anyway. Jacques Villeneuve is most well-known to motorsport fans the world over as the only Canadian driver to ever win the CART championship, Indy 500, and a Formula One world championship (and only [...]

South Africa doesn’t get mentioned too often in the automotive world, but when it does it’s usually because of something they have produced down there that is truly spectacular/ridiculous. This looks spectacular. Basically, it’s an over the top, Italian style, super car from Africa from a new manufacturer called the Perana Performance Group. A few more tasty details after the jump.

A couple weeks ago, Tesla gave us a picture of a “homeless guy stealing his tent back,” (to paraphrase Peter) thusly revealing some of the upcoming Model S(edan). This gave us a look at the spiffy wheels and gave us an idea of the general shape. However, the 100 people who preordered the special-edition Signature Series Model S were just sent this teaser photo. Yummy. My thoughts after the jump.

Will there really be a Honda F1 team for 2009? It’s difficult to say. Petrobras have pulled out of sponsoring the team, as well as deciding to pull out of F1 altogether since it offers no further product development possibilities for them at this point in time. And what of the other rumours surrounding the [...]

Sebring, Florida is a quite little town located in the centre of the state, just over an hour south of Orlando. It is home to a lake, and airport and an historic 3.5-mile road course built on an abandoned WWII airbase. For one weekend a year, it is the focal point of international motor-sport as [...]

Courtesy of iMotor, a British automotive magazine, I give you “Bail Out Chrysler: The Game.” One simply picks a poorly made vehicle and drives around in the attempt to pick up good reviews, Italian alliances, movie deals and state bail-outs, all while watching tons of money drizzle away. My red PT Cruiser managed to get [...]

Finally, some specs on the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Hybrid S. While this is good for the car’s fuel efficiency and cleanliness, the problem is that it is a still an enormous, ugly lump in the middle of Porsche’s otherwise gorgeous lineup. It’s simply offensive, and this is an attempt to make it less so. Hit the jump for some information and some more ranting.

Memory is a funny thing. One of the first cars I remember ever seeing as a kid was my grandfather’s rusted old white Stingray, sitting up on blocks in his driveway. I don’t think he ever got around to fixing it, and I’m not sure I ever knew what year it actually was (hey, I [...]

Since Giorgetto Giugiaro’s Quaranta concept (pictured below) that was shown at Geneva last year was something of an atrocity, it appears he decided to show something that he designed while sober this year. The Quaranta was essentially what a Lamborghini would look like with all of the pretty and interesting bits taken out. As if sleek, fighter-jet styling had been diluted until it was little more than a lump with wheels. It assaulted the eyes. This year’s design looks a bit more promising. More after the jump.
