Picture Of The Day: Dirty Volvo Edition
Mon, Mar 23, 2009

Volvo is most well-known as a manufacturer of immensely safe and sharply-designed vehicles. By “sharply-designed” I mean that they resemble three welded-together boxes, not that Pininfarina penned them. It is models like the 850 pictured above that have cemented Volvo’s reputation in our collective unconscious.
Mainly because safe isn’t sexy and neither are boxes, Volvo cars aren’t exactly slayers of the female gender. Despite this, today’s POTY features a well-rounded individual who has clearly circumvented any objections related to his (or her) ride of choice. Well done.

oddly enough, the 780 Coupe was a Bertone design and it didn’t have a single curve on it anywhere besides the wheel wells.
Sadly I never got that kinda print on MY 850, but there’s hope for the Saab – it’s got a pretty flat hood. I must say though, you’re wrong about Volvos – it spells “responsibility” and “maturity” to the ladies, who sometimes like that. Plus, heated seats
bitches like the volvos, fo sho.
I’m all about the 780 Bertone coupe! It’s easily my favourite Volvo of all-time. If I drove one of them and I ever met a girl who knew what it was, I think I’d have to marry her on the spot.
