Porsche Panamera: Canadian Pricing

As controversial as its looks may be, the Panamera is getting some pretty respectable reviews thus far. It seems to combine a previously unattainable combination of comfort, driving engagement, seating, utility, and build quality. Porsche, on its first attempt, have done something that Mercedes and BMW haven’t been able to do, even after 30+ years of trying. Now, Canadian pricing for the Panamera is available.

Is it attainable, or just plain silly? A list of the S, 4S, and Turbo models, as well as some options, is below.

Panamera S:

400 hp 4.8L V8

0-100 kph: 5.4 seconds

Top Speed: 283 kph

MSRP: $115,100

Panamera 4S

400 hp 4.8L V8

0-100 kph: 5.0 seconds

Top Speed: 282 kph

MSRP: $120,300

Panamera Turbo:

500 hp 4.8L twin-turbo V8

0-100 kph: 4.2 seconds

Top Speed: 303 kph

MSRP: $155,000

Options (just some interesting ones, not all of them):

RS Spyder Design wheels: $4,250

Amethyst Metallic paint: $4,280

18-way Adaptive Sport Seats with Memory including leather interior: $9,360

Park Assist with Rearview Camera: $1,710

Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) including Rear Differential Lock: $6,080

Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB): $11,110

Adaptive Air Suspension: $2,720

Sport Exhaust System: $4,020

Adaptive Cruise Control: $3,400

Refrigerator in Rear: $3,255

Burmester® High-End Surround Sound-System: $7,750

Bluetooth: $950

Add some of this up and I found that I was able to take a “base” Panamera and make it cost $181,540. That’s $66,440 in options without even getting into the nitty-gritty appearance and colour-matched items. As much as the Panamera is growing on me, and it is for reasons I won’t get into right now, you still have to be judicious with the options. Which, I suppose is like any other Porsche. Maybe the Panamera is a true Porsche after all.

Ok, what the hell kind of $115,000+ uber sports sedan has a $4,000 sport exhaust system as AN OPTION? And what the hell kind of seats cost about as much as ceramic composite brakes? $3,400 for adaptive cruise control? Bluetooth isn’t even standard?? Hmmm…you are right Peter, this is a real Porsche after all…

Porsche Panamera is a nice car and the balavced package also. As per interior decor and features I think prices are OK.

“Porsche, on its first attempt, have done something that Mercedes and BMW haven’t been able to do…” Gotta disagree. My BMW M5 does & has everything this does, plus it looks WAY better.
