For Sale: “Honda Civic SIR Convertible”
Wed, Nov 4, 2009

Reading that title, you might be expecting some hacked-together drop-top that looks just as bad as it is. You couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Civic SiR was a brilliant little car in every one of its iterations, I even parked next to a 2002-2005 model in the school parking lot this morning and couldn’t help but steal an admiring glance. In 1995, the year this seller claims his car is from, the SiR was a 3-door hatchback with a 125 hp D16Z6 VTEC engine. So what seems to be the problem?

For starters, in 1995, the SiR was only available with a 5-speed manual. So either this industrious owner decided to swap it out for a slushbox, or maybe, just maybe this isn’t an SiR. But it is a convertible?

Doesn’t look like it. But then again, maybe it’s one of those new-fangled 4-door retractable hardtop convertibles.
If your Spidey Senses still aren’t tingling, maybe the seller’s description of the car will help:
“i got a really nice Honda Civci for sale it power locks automatic this car is areally nice car and its shedp on gaz astart was romod cantrol (780)***-****”
Civci? shedp on gaz? romod cantrol?

Yup–and it's the dealers that are crooks… If this was on dealer lot, the "Consumer Police" would have it all over the news. Sad thing, some nice person will buy this car, and this meat-stick has no responsibilty.
I know what you mean, I used to work at a dealership and the negative image some people had of us was astonishing. It's too bad AMVIC doesn't police Kijiji.
holy crap, is everyone from Edmonton like that?
also, Kijiji is hilarious.
Yes, everyone from Edmonton is like that. All Edmonton citizens spell incorrectly and post erroneous car adds. Great question.
I think James was being sarcastic, but then again, so are you.
