Happy 1st Birthday CarEnvy!

In October, 2008, from the dark and twisted mind of Emmet Gibney (founder) sprang forth the idea for a website. While not his first foray into web design, this new website would be a little different, a little special. It would be about cars. There would be news, of course, and reviews, surely, but there would also be a miscelaneous collection of shenanigans that only be loosely related to automotive culture. Most importantly though, this website would be about the passion for 4-wheeled motoring that we all share.

Later that month, after nurturing the idea a bit more, Emmet texted me asking if I would be interested in driving and writing about cars. Uhh what would any other clinically-obsessive gearhead say to that? “Hell ya!”

12 months later and CarEnvy.ca has grown from a glimmer in its father’s eye to a fledgling community with 20,000 visitors a month. This success would not have been possible without the help of our contributors. So thank you to Janaki Jitchotvisut, Stirling Matheson, Kevin Harrison, Mark Atkinson, and last but not least Jonathan Bush for your tireless efforts over the last 52 weeks.

We’ve had a great year, and may we have many more.
