I read Kevin's review of the GLK 350 and was amazed at how different his experience was than my own...and several Canadian automotive journalists. Particularly his description of the off-roading characteristics of the vehicle; like he was driving a completely different vehicle! I don't know what Kevin's credentials are vis-a-vis automotive expertise, but his insistance on using half his article to review a Volvo that is not in the competitive Compact Luxury SUV category and then concluding his article with a rating system that apparently gives most of the averaging weight to "Audio/Visual", tells me that maybe you should find someone to write articles for you that knows what the hell they are talking about!

Kevin has a BA in Political Science and a degree in Journalism. He has contributed to World of Wheels, Formula Publications, and currently writes to the Halifax Chronicle Herald. Oh, and he reviews cars for us too.

In our reviewing system, a vehicle garnering a 6.5 or 7 overall is pretty average. This is not some puff piece where an "average" vehicle is 8.5/10 and every vehicle is so wonderful just because a press release said so, as in far too many other publications. Also, we feel that the Volvo is a more than competent competitor in the Compact Luxury CUV category, certainly more so than the aging and overly stiff BMW X3.

Each publication and author is entitled to their opinion, and we feel that Kevin has made a valid contribution to the GLK discussion.
