Just seeing it, a casual viewer might not entirely suspect what’s at work with this car, which of course is what makes it so exciting. Sure, they might notice the STI BBS wheels (’08s on the street, ’06s on the track), and the specialty Saabaru Rally Pig badging . Getting a good look at the interior would also immediately make it obvious that this is no normal 9-2 Aero X—it’s got a full STI swap, including engine/drivetrain bits, brakes, suspension, wheels…and that fantastic interior. All of it’s crammed into the body of a supermodel…er, sorry, the most gorgeous iteration of that generation of Impreza wagon. Truly the best of both worlds is on full display with this car. Its proud owner knows it, too—it’s both a daily driver and a track beast. Beauty, brains, and brawn…all in one handy package.

Starting from an ’06 5-speed 9-2 Aero X base with 2.5 litre engine, NASIOC member Nelly (who luckily works at a performance shop) created a 6-speed Saabaru STI monster. It’s with good reason that this car recently won NASIOC’s Top Scoob contest.
