Peter Dushenski - Editor
Peter loves cars and loves following the car industry, it’s like a second religion for him. He loves cars of all shapes and sizes, but especially wagons and hatchbacks. Following this three/five-door-loving theme, Peter seems to think that he is a European race car driver.
It’s not just Europeans who make good cars though, there are gems from all over the world. That being said, the Italians and the Germans make particularly good cars it seems. Maybe it’s something in the water on the other side of the Atlantic. Peter’s dream car? A Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. At least that’s the flavour of the day, who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Peter loves driving but laments the lack of tracks with right turns where he lives in Edmonton, Alberta. So please forgive his reviews if they focus on straight-line speed instead of all-out handling characteristics as the roads in Edmonton are mind-numbingly straight.

Emmet Gibney – Videographer/Webmaster
Emmet is the lucky guy who gets to watch Peter drive all of these wonderful cars. He shoots, edits and uploads all of the videos on the site. Emmet is also responsible for maintaining the site and making sure that Peter has nice new cars to drive.
Emmet has an affinity for Aston Martin, Bentley and Maserati, but would settle for a new Golf GTI. Perhaps someday Emmet will get to live out his Bond dreams in a new DBS, but for now he’ll have to settle for zee Germans’ VW Golf he currently drives.
Stirling – Writer
Stirling is a performing arts major, which is in no way conducive to any sort of motoring enthusiasm on account of something called an “unpaid apprenticeship” which is considered normal after a 13 years of training and a bachelor’s degree. However, instead of diverting his attention entirely elsewhere, he chooses to torment himself by constantly finding out more mouth-watering details about vehicles he will never afford. He loves cars, hates SUVs, unless they miraculously defy Mr. Newton, and will make fun of just about anything. Generally he isn’t terribly fond of anything not made in a former Axis nation, although he will make an exception for the Brits. Given, MINI, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley are about as English as the queen (eg. German).
Stirling enjoys a good cruise in virtually any car, but frequently laments the incredibly sluggish automatic transmission of his 2002 VW Golf. He hopes to someday buy something a little more fun to drive, probably from Volkswagen and preferably from Bugatti or Maserati.
Janaki – Writer
While Janaki wishes she lived somewhere that the weather gods allowed two-wheeled transportation year-round, she unfortunately doesn’t. Luckily, she likes driving only slightly less than she likes riding, so that’s OK. She’d like driving even more in a Getrag AWD MINI, but since the only one in existence was destroyed, she instead drives a MkIII Golf GTi VR6 in Tornado Red with snow tires, and can most often be found screaming in frustration at the twit in the 4WD SUV in front of her that’s going at least 25 kph under the speed limit in a straight line because there are flurries. She is also a massive F1 and WRC fan, and in fact will swear that the best vacation she’s ever taken so far was a trip to Rallye Mexico 2005.
Mark Atkinson – Test Driver/Writer
Mark Atkinson is CarEnvy’s latest vehicle reviewer, bringing his near 10 years experience as an automobile journalist with him. He started during his years as a student at Toronto’s Centennial College by launching an auto-review section in the college paper. After graduation, he worked and written for publications like Inside Track Motorsport News, Carguide, World of Wheels, Canadian Auto World, the Hamilton Spectator Wheels section, Metro Carguide, Suburban Life and West of the City. Besides writing for CarEnvy, Mark also has his own blog, www.drivingguy.com, and appears in a number of other print and online publications.
Mark’s love of cars came at a young age thanks to his grandfather, who had a trio of antique Chevrolets and attended races at Watkins Glen.
Mark has driven nearly a thousand different vehicles in his career, including notables like the latest Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R, but his current favourite is Mercedes-Benz’ C63 AMG… at least until something else comes along.
As a freelance automotive journalist, Mark enjoys working from home with his two dogs and kitten as his office staff.
Kevin Harrison – Test Driver/Writer
When Kevin’s parents noticed when he was young that he only played with Hot Wheels and completely ignored any toy that wasn’t a car, they knew they had spawned a child that would grow up to be completely obsessed with cars.
When he was eight, he wanted to be a truck driver and his parents are truly relieved that Kevin’s aspirations turned out to be much higher. Kevin loves to combine his two passions of cars and writing through editorials, columns, reviews and news about anything automotive. He has written for the Wheels section of the Halifax Chronicle Herald, Formula Publications, the Hamilton Spectator and CREST Halifax.
Kevin appreciates mostly every car, but tends to believe the Europeans do cars properly. He particularly has a soft spot for quirky cars thanks to his father’s Volvo 240. He hopes that his garage will be home to many BMWs, Audis and Volvos throughout the years, with the ultimate dream of one day having a Ferrari 458 Italia and/or a Aston Martin V12 Vantage…at least until something equally impressive comes along.
